The first edition of Moscow International Piano Competition organized by the Association for Support of Cultural Initiatives took place in the city of Russia – Moscow from 24 to 28 October 2017.
This newly born international piano competition provided an opportunity and a new effective platform for young pianists, not only to show their technique, skills and professionalism, but also their personality and knowledge when interpreting the compositions which they were performing.
Moscow International Piano Competition makes part of the big series of 11 international piano competitions where 5 best participants of each competition will have a free participation in the Malta International Piano Competition 2018 in the framework of the “Malta International Music Festival 2018” which is dedicated to Valletta 2018, when the capital of Malta will become European Capital of Culture 2018!
The First Prize winner is Konstantin Hachikyan from Russia. He is a student of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. The young talent conducts vigorous concert activity, he performs in the largest Moscow Conservatory and Philarmoniс Society halls.
The second Prize awarded is Seong-Hyeon Leem from South Korea. She graduated from Seoul National University with honors. Ms. Leem is a prizewinner of numerous competitions in South Korea.
Alexey Kudryashov from Russia won the third prize. He graduated from Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Alexey Kudryashov performs in Russia and abroad, both with solo concerts and in chamber ensembles, also accompanied by orchestras.
Besides, the chance of participation in Malta International Piano Competition was taken by Kim Junhee from South Korea and Mariam Abgaryan from Russia.
The Special prize for the best interpretation of the piece of Maltese composers was won by Gazimova Regina from Russia.She is the laureate of many international competitions, the winner of the Russian Presidential prize for talented youth. Regina several times played with a symphonic orchestra of the Surgut Philharmonic hall, dazzling everyone with the virtuoso playing.
